My small home town is located nearby kaveri river, the drinking water from municipality stored in a giant water tank and supplied to home. I believe that this water tank is not clean enough and often chlorine was added to get them clean.

I answered an interesting question earlier today about the "best" counter-top water filter. She said that she was disappointed with the consumer-available units and I suggested a Milli-Q system.
