The NRDC maintains that tap water is required to undergo more rigorous testing to achieve higher purity standards than bottled water.

tap is better than bottled
Distilled is best because of the ph in it is alkaline and balanced

Tap water is often more healthier as well because cities add things to it such as flouride, and because it's publicly accessible, it needs to be tested regularly, and meet certain standards. I'm not too sure about the Brita or Pur filtering out minerals, but they do for sure change the water- you can tell in the taste. Those filters claim to remove harmful things that may be found in tap water, but because they use carbon as the filtering substance, the water that you're left with will often have higher carbon levels than what you started with out of the tap.
