we use PUR. it works and the filters are available everywhere.

Yes, I had an under sink filter which worked very well. A small
cylinder went under the sink & there was a small fountain tap attached on top. They aren’t that expensive & definitely do produce clear water.

Water filtration systems come in three basic designs, ranked by their effectiveness.
1. Ionic, which uses electricity to remove the extra chemicals. Some labs to create distilled water out of tap water use this system.
2. Osmosis Filter’ which forces the water to move up through a filter leaving behind impurities.
3. Filter systems, which simply run the water through a filter.

Pure and Brita make several filter systems. Some attach to the sink faucet (which I installed myself and use) others are a filter in a pitcher.

Before paying all that money for a professionally installed system I would by the Brita Pitcher and try that out. If you notice a difference then you might want the more expensive system. However, once you sign the contract to install the expensive system you are stuck with it–there is no "try before you buy" policy.

Personally I do notice the taste difference.

Brita has an excellent filter. It works well and it cheaper than buying water. There is no way for you to try before you buy unless the brand you purchase has a money back guarantee or the store where you purchase has a money back guarantee for defects in workmanship.

Well basically it’s this thing that you buy, install in your home and i think that it……….yes that’s right, it filters water

my parents had one that worked great, you just have to remember to keep the filter changed, the best bet would be to have your water tested, and any water softener seller can do this for you, that way you will know what you need to filter your water for.
