What is the best water filtration device?

by admin

I had a PUR filter on my sink for about a year before it started falling apart and spewing water everywhere, tried the Brita pitcher and that also started leaking near the spout a month after I purchased. Im tired of spending money on these crappy products. I would buy a filter for the entire house but we rent. Whats the ultimate in home water solution that is fail proof? All I drink is water so I need something that works.
I know there are filters for your spout, as ive mentioned ive tried it already and it did not work well. Will the reverse osmosis system by Brita not fail on me like every other filter ive used? What exactly is it?

You should go for an R.O. ( Reverse Osmosis) system.
Brita also makes it.

I have tried all sorts of filters but I am currently using RO from Brita. (In India it is a JV, Usha Brita, in fact)

The disadvantage of Brita Pitcher was that you had to manually fill it in and make sure that you tightly place the gasket and lid after filling in. But it was a nice stuff since it used to work without power and also in the absence of running water supply.
In RO you need to have power to operate and running water with sufficient pressure to get its tank fill. But I don’t need to monitor it for water level in the tank, it automatically fills in.

Not to mention R.O. is currently the best technology to filter and softem the water at the moment.

Outlet tap of any kind of filter can go bad but can be replaced.

  3. My son had a slightly high level of lead in his blood and we tested the house but couldn’t find the source. We concluded that it must be the water pipes so we did some research to find the best water filter available.

We settled on the a ceramic gravity filter. Basicly it’s a stainless steel canister that has a top and bottom chamber. The ceramic "candle" filters are contained in the top chamber which you fill with water . Gravity pushes the water through the ceramic "candles" and into the bottom chamber.
It is similar to natural spring water that is filtered through limestone in a mountain. It filters out all the chemicals, parasites, bacteria, etc. but leaves the minerals that are good for you.

Supposedly the filters are so good that you can put pond water in them and it will come out drinkable. They use these filters in third world countries where the water quality is questionable. They have been around since the 1800’s I think.

The two biggest brands are British Berkefeld and Doulton. I don’t want to be confused with an advertiser so I won’t say which one I went with but they are both excellent.

My son was tested several months after drinking the filtered water only and the lead level in his blood dropped to normal levels. He was also taking heavy metal detox drops (cilantro and algea were the main ingredients), so whether it was the filter, the drops or both I can’t say 100%, but I’m pretty sure it was a combination of the two but mainly the filter.
